Network of Intercession for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal

Dear Friends and Intercessors,

“Blow a trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, gather the people together ………then the Lord will be zealous for His land and will have pity on His people. (Joel 2 v. 15-18)

Three days after sending out my last letter, we were severely flooded here at HOD, and our lives are now very different from our normal routine. We do not expect to be able to operate as a retreat centre again until next Spring, so this is a very significant time for us. We feel it is connected to the word about waiting on the Lord, which, as I said, involves taking up our positions of faith. I hope this letter will encourage you all to continue doing this as you pray.

The day after the flood, I received a response to the letter from Frances Weaver, with the following Scripture readings:

“Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unploughed ground, for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes and showers righteousness on you.” (Hosea 10 v.12).

“Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27 v.14)

“Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43 v. 18-19)

These readings confirm that the Lord is calling us to actively wait on Him, and expect Him to lead us in new ways.

I would like to suggest the following as a possible format, whether you are praying alone or in a group. At the beginning of the time of intercession, the prayer “Veni Creator Spiritus” (words attached at the end of this letter), could be said or sung, followed by times of :

A time to declare the Lordship of Jesus over our land.

Being still and silent before the Lord, with maybe a time of adoration if that is
possible for you. The Lord may need to lead us through a time of
repentance as we wait on Him.

If possible, write down anything you receive from the Lord, during this time.

The following is a guide to the main points for our intercession together:

For the individual members of the NSC (list of names attached), and especially for Michelle as leader, and her work with ICCRS. Please also pray for Dave Payne and for the production of video teachings.
For the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the UK.
As “
Judgment begins with the House of God” (1Peter 5 v17), let us pray for the Churches in our country, that we would be awakened to the knowledge of our own distance from God. Great revivals of the past happened when people were moved to weep and mourn for the sins of the land. Pray for the Holy Spirit to come upon the intercessors and lead us to share God’s broken heart for His people.
Pray for all who are baptised in the Holy Spirit, that we would allow God to truly reign in our lives. A verse which has been very important to us is
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man” (Psalm 118 v.8 – the central verse in the Bible!).
Pray for the CASE initiative to reach out to lapsed Catholics.

I would be grateful if you could send me the main words and prophecies so that I can feedback to the NSC meeting.

God bless you all as we “wait on Him” together,

Fiona (H.O.D Community)

March 2008

Greetings and love from CaFE. Many, many thanks indeed for all of your prayers that continue to keep us afloat. We have just about recovered from the trauma of producing ‘Believe’ which is selling very well and being used around the country at this time and the feedback seems very positive indeed.

I had a month’s sabbatical, which was a joy and we are all now back with our noses to the grindstone. We are about to start our next production called ‘
Alive in Christ – Equipping the Parish for Mission’, which we hope to produce in conjunction with CASE (The Catholic Agency to Support Evangelisation). We hope to produce a DVD inspiring, equipping and encouraging Catholic parishes to evangelise both within the Church and outside it. We will be filming in Rome and around the country and aiming to send one free to every parish in the country and as many catechists and lay leaders as we can get our hands on.

During this time we will be fund-raising for our next main production which we aim to start in September which will be on Scripture. As you may know the Catholic Church has designated 2009 as the Year of Scripture and we hope to produce a series something like ‘Believe’ probably again filmed in the Holy Land, which will inspire and equip Catholics to read and study the Bible. So if you can spare the time here are some practical issues for prayer support:

Please pray for parishes around the country and beyond who are running our resources, particularly the ‘Believe’ course. That many will be touched and grow in faith.
Please pray that we have the wisdom, anointing and creativity to produce ‘Alive in Christ’.
Please pray for funding for the ‘Alive in Christ’ free DVD and the £35,000 that we need to raise for the Scripture project before September.
Please pray for the team and our families, for health, strength and zeal as we continue this ministry.
Please pray for the local Celebrate weekends happening around the country through the coming months. I will be speaking at a number of them. They are a wonderful opportunity for people in parishes to experience more of the Holy Spirit, Celebrate style.
